The process of shirring transforms a long roll of sausage casing into small, easy-to-use sticks. This reduces filling time, increases process efficiency, and allows for the production of small batches with controlled quantities.
The casing is compressed to form spools with a standard material length of 25 meters.
Using corrugated casing enables faster production of small product batches without the need for frequent roll changes and makes it easier to track quantities.
Depending on the material, shirring can be applied to dry casing or pre-moistened (RTU-ready to use) casing.
